Course Overview:

This course is aimed at Managers or Leaders who have responsibility for managing allegations against adults who work with children and would usually have line management responsibility for those adults 

The briefing will be delivered by Jackie Shaw (Local Authority Designated Officer). 

Course Aims:

This is a two-hour virtual briefing for managers and leaders and aims to ensure that all participants understand the statutory guidance relating to the management of allegations against adults who work with children.

Course Outcomes:

  • Outline the Statutory Guidance that underpins the management of allegations ?Consider the role and responsibilities of the Local Authority Designated Officer ? 
  • Define the threshold for referring to the Local Authority Designated Officer ? 
  • Outline the process of a referral in respect of allegations against staff ? 
  • Consider your role and responsibilities in responding to allegations against staff ? 
  • Identify the difference between a conduct issue and an allegation.
  • Complete a Manchester Safeguarding Partnership Action plan.
